HOMEWORK

Parents will be invited to a meeting early each year so that teachers may
explain how to assist children at home.  Homework tasks may involve reading, spelling or
number exercises.  Homework books must be signed by the responsible adult DAILY,
after ensuring that the homework tasks have been completed.

LIBRARY BOOKS

It is imperative that learners are well trained in the proper care of
library books. To facilitate the care of school library books a library bag is to be used
for carrying books. These library books are available from school.  New books will not be
issued unless lost books are recovered or paid for.

TEXT BOOKS

Text books are supplied by the school and they remain the property of
the school.  Learners are responsible for any damage or loss of text books.

FILE AT HOME

Parents are requested to keep a file at home for the following:

  *  Receipts for money paid to school
  *  School calendar
  *  The prospectus and all newsletters
  *  List of infectious diseases

TEACHING METHODS

At Rosehill we employ modern teaching methods including the use of audio-visual
equipment to ensure that your child is well equipped to progress to the next phase.

Remedial instructions are provided for those who need it, and learners who need to be
extended are given this opportunity.

Cultural activities include ART, MUSIC and LITERATURE APPRECIATION.

We aim to ensure that EVERY learner in our care experiences the joy and excitement of
learning in a HAPPY and SAFE environment.

Please support the staff in their endeavours to provide a good start to your child’s
education.

ILLNESSES/ACCIDENTS

Parents will be notified immediately in case of illness or an accident.  If you cannot be
located we will contact the emergency contact person you have indicated.  Please ensure
that your details are updated regularly.  The school is not allowed to administer
medication unless proper arrangements have been made by the parent.
